Cascais, i o tym czy Nagroda Pritzkera dodaje smaku.

Kto poznaje? Tak, to Cascais i Casa das Histórias Paula Rego. Bydynek zaprojektowany przez jednego z największych portugalskich architektów - Eduardo Souto de Moura. Mieści w sobie muzeum prezentujące prace Pauli Rego, portugalskiej malarki. Kto jeszcze jej nie zna, warto wygooglać. Oprócz tego jest tu niewielka restauracja, a może raczej bistro. Odgrzebałam te zdjęcia, zrobione już ponad miesiąc temu, ale w końcu nie co dzień pije się sok w budynku zaprojektowanym przez laureata nagrody Pritzkera. Czy smakuje lepiej? Zaraz Wam powiem.

Who can recognize? Yes, it's Cascais and Casa Histórias Paula Rego. The building is designed by the one of the greatest Portuguese architects - Eduardo Souto de Moura. Inside there is a museum with exhibition of works of Portuguese famous painter - Paula Rego. If you don't know her, it's worth to take a look at her art. There is also a small restaurant or sort of bistro. The photos are taken more than a month ago, but I decided to create a post. Because not everyday you can drink a juice in the building designed by the laureate of Pritzker Prize. Does it taste better? I will tell you in the moment.

Trochę wstyd się przyznać, ale nie do końca pamiętam, z jakich owoców zrobiony był sok. Ale to dlatego, że od tego czasu zjadłam i wypiłam tyle różnych rzeczy, że już wszystko mi się pomieszało. Pamiętam tylko, że był dość gorzki. Chyba przez kiwi. Nie warto blendować pestek kiwi. Oni tego nie wiedzieli. Był także dość drogi - 3,5 euro bodajże. Ale to co. Na pewno był zdrowy. No i w końcu w kultowym miejscu. Wybaczam.

It's a bit of shame but I don't really remember what that juice was made of. It is because since that time I ate and drank a lot of things. I remember that the taste was bitter. I guess that because of kiwi. It's better not to blend kiwi seeds. They didn't know. The juice was also quite expensive - 3,5 euro probably. But whatever. For sure it was healthy. Plus in the cult place. I forgive.

Wnętrza są bardzo proste, minimalistyczne, jasne, geometryczne. Mnie się podoba. W końcu to muzeum, a wnętrze ma stanowić tło dla prezentowanej sztuki.

The interiors are very simple, minimalistic, bright, geometric. I like it. This is museum so the interior should be only the background for the Art.

Przejdźmy teraz do bistro. Nie jest to szczyt designu. Lada prezentuje się elegancko, ale jeśli chodzi o wyposażenie... Lakierowane na żółto-pomarańczowo krzesła przytłaczają wnętrze swoją ilością. Obrus jak w sali weselnej, a do tego fikuśne gałęzie w wazonach. Taką dekorację przygotowałą kiedyś moja mama, a ja wciąż próbuję jej to wyperswadować (true story). Czy tak własnie powinna wyglądać restauracja w budynku laureata nagrody Pritzkera? Zabrakło pieniędzy albo wyobraźni. Raczej to drugie, bo przecież dobre wnętrze nie musi być drogie.

Let's get to the bistro. It's not a peak of design. The counter looks elegant but the furnishings... Yellow-orange laquered chairs overwhelm the interior because of their amount. Tablecloth looks like in a wedding hall and these vases with branches. One day my mum created such kind of decoration and I still try to persuade her it (true story). Should the restaurant in a Pritzker Prize laureate's building looks like that? There were not enought money or not enough imagination. Probably the second thing because a good interior doesn't have to be expensive.

Jeśli już zasiądziemy i coś zamówimy nie oglądajmy się na boki, ale patrzmy w górę. Wysoki świetlik z podwieszonym kwadratowym elementem ratuje sytuację. Tu czuć tego Pritzkera.

If you are already sitting it is better to look up, not at the sides. High skylight with a suspended square saves the day. Here you can feel that Pritzker.

Budynek robi zdecydowanie lepsze wrażeniez zewnątrz. Intensywny pomarańczowy kolor plus soczyście zielona trawa. Warto zobaczyć na własne oczy. I warto zobaczyć muzealną ekspozycję, bistro ewentualnie można sobie odpuścić.

The building makes a better impression from the outside. Intensive orange color plus lush green grass. It's worth to see with your own eyes. And it's also worth to see the exhibition inside, bistro you can skip actually.

W zadośćuczynieniu, że tak mało zjadłam i nie możecie nacieszyć oczu smacznie wyglądającymi zdjęciami, wrzucam jeszcze parę zdjęć z innego świetnego miejsca w Cascais... Farol Museu de Santa Maria. Piękne założenie.

Tutaj znajduje się fajnie wyglądający niewielki bar. Na pewno mieli smaczniejsze soki. Kto wie... może tu jeszcze wrócę i się przekonam, a Wy razem ze mną!

Here there is nice-looking little bar. I believe they have better juices. Who knows... maybe I will come back and check it and you also with me!
